Premier League Manager Royal Rumble

We have the WWE Royal Rumble and talkSPORT is more excited than ever as 30 superstitions in the men’s and women’s division battle for a title picture at WrestleMania.

We’ve seen guards panic, eliminate embarrassment, massive entrances over the years making it one of the greatest spectacles in sports.

But one thing worries us. Which Premier League manager would win one?

They usually try to counter opponents on the handline and may not have been close to a wrestling ring in their lives.

But talkSPORT can’t help but imagine that a Rumble featuring all 20 bosses would be a Pay Per View hit.

So, Vince McMahon, we might take a look inside to lock this one in until we see Jurgen Klopp put the smack down on and off the pitch.

Who would win though? We have assessed every opportunity the current Premier League manager has.

Early Revolution

Chris Wilder (Sheffield United)

Last season, The Wild Thing was a high-flying, ready to knock big guys off the turnbuckle.

Wilder is a direct risk catcher capable of packing a punch on the deck.

However, his star ‘s injuries and deformities have gone down and after one season of fighting with some of the controversies he is now back to taking some pain.

Mikel Arteta (Arsenal)

No matter how slippery they become, he will be a slippery customer if you let him do his thing in a ring.

Unfortunately, it looks like it can get turf without hair out of place and can’t use one of the best finishers in the world.

Graham Potter (Brighton and Hove Albion)

Now and then, Potter is able to do the best in the industry but he is not consistent enough.

Relying on youthful exile and ingenious wit you won’t get you far.

Winning the Royal Rumble requires street smarts and he’s still learning.

Scott Parker (Fulham)

He is suave, has the gift of gab and of course there is potential.

Unfortunately, as with many younger stars, he ‘s naive right now and may be easily thrown over the ropes when a tall dog enters the ring.

Middle of the pack

Roy Hodgson (Crystal Palace)

The oldest swinger in town, he’s a wily player. No flicks and tricks, it’s old school and effective.

Hodgson gained enough experience of his European travels which could be a difficult customer.

Solid but unspectacular, he may outrun the odd competitor but at the end of the day he can’t do as he used to.

Dean Smith (Aston Villa)
Everyone loves the hero of a rural town.

He does his best with his weapons and is ready to argue with the referee as well.

A few people may be surprised this season after finishing his artistic collection.

Smith is also gaining a reputation for his defensive work as well, showing that he is multi-colored and ready to put down the smack on anyone who sleeps on his talents.

David Moyes (West Ham United)

Rowdy Roddy Moyes is not afraid of rubbish. It has been in a while.

Not one of the main stars right now, his light was fading but he got a chance here to disprove the doubts.

It’s not as stressful as it used to be and could do a bit of damage but we don’t think it will end well.

Brendan Rodgers (City of Leicester)

He may have a successful smile but Rodgers is still plagued by a failed title shootout six years ago.

He has rebuilt himself, working through the smaller divisions and is ready to return to the main event.

Rodgers obviously has something up his sleeve but I wonder if it would be just one finisher to fix the Rumble?

Jose Mourinho (Tottenham)

Needing a little change of opinion, the particular one is still trying to prove to be the best one.

As a master of the son, he can speak into conflict with anyone he likes.

Can he walk the tour after he speaks? He is more likely to engage in dirty tricks before being picked up by his own pet.

Like Dick Dastardly in spandex.

Marcelo Bielsa (Leeds United)

He has a reputation as an inspiration to many superstitious but did not win the major title for himself.

He is an innovator, a wild man, and has the strongest knees in the industry.

The only problem? It attacks too much leaving it always open for counters.

He will either win or panic. There is nothing in between.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (Manchester United)

The Child – Assassin Assassin has been on the rise and decline over the past year.

Injury had hampered his progress along with an inconsistent form but he is now one of the best weapons in the game in his arsenal.

He can hit the top dogs on his day but the odd decline means he is a title contender, we don’t see him lifting the belt yet.

Solskjaer could do it by learning a few other moves rather than relying on his speed and his counters.

Steve Bruce (Newcastle United)

Big Daddy Cool is often despised at the highest level.

Always regarded as a run down from the main event stars it seems to always be one game away from being a hero and one away from being a speaker.

It is slightly larger than its competitors so it may be harder to get over the high rope but with enough persistence and creativity it can be beaten.

Fans don’t like much more – the biggest heel in the industry? It could be.

Nuno Espirito Santo (Wolverhampton Wanderers)

The Portuguese Man o ‘War has caused the big boys a lot of trouble since they entered the Premier League.

He does not return from fighting, using his own unique style.

Many major opponents have fallen foul of his grips and he has established himself as one of the best.

He has yet to prove himself as an elite competitor but is this the possible moment.

Contenders

Sam Allardyce (West Brom)

Well, it’s the Big Show!

Absent for a year or two, he’s back with renewed vigor – and he’s still about that Big Slam.

It’s full of ideas, laughing against younger stars, but it hasn’t won a big prize yet.

Allardyce is not afraid of the dark arts and can harm the other competitors, but overall, you know he won’t win anything.

Ralph Hasenhuttl (Southampton)

He is back from the dead. Hasenhuttl has risen again.

Hard as old shoes, high, knee, Austria should not be bothered, once it is ready, it is now one of the best around.

You can hit it with the most scenes but it doesn’t go away without a fight. Disregard it and you are the first to get feet outside the ring.

Pep Guardiola (Manchester City)

The cerebral Assassin – he has the pedigree and we all know him but injuries catch up with him.

Guardiola usually wins thanks to his devastating range of finishers. He is the man who has 1,000 catches and you would want to give him a wide site.

Carlo Ancelotti (Everton)

An experienced grappler and crowd pleaser with People’s Eyebrow, he’s done it all over the continent winning titles along the way.

He is a major supporter and was once a major card event but is now in decline. It may be the final rush for the Italian Stallion on Merseyside.

When it comes to the clutch it is close but there will be no cigar.

Jurgen Klopp (Liverpool)

The Big Red Machine is almost unstoppable.

Giant man ready to go on the offensive and go ahead with the best in the industry.

Klopp is about speed, agility and stamina and if you don’t look at your back you will get gegenpressed inside.

He does, however, tend to look at the big prize and forget about the small deer – a weakness in Rumble.

An entrant will usually not be surprised that the title holder does not participate.

Hell, fire and Kloppstone…

Hell, fire and Kloppstone…

Winner

Sean Dyche (Burnley)

One that can move from baby to heel in less than 60 seconds, Dyche is here to damage feathers.

It won’t always be right but it can surprise his day.

Dyche Stunner can release a Stone Cold if someone falls into his trap.

Klopp – the Great Red Engine – fell foul of his destructive tactics and is feared in a recent terrible knock at Anfield.

Dyche 3:16 says it was just the ass Klopp made – and it ‘s a sure fire to win the Rumble too.

And that’s the bottom line because Sean Dyche said that
