Xiaomi wins court ruling banning U.S. investment

Xiaomi product to appear in January. The company said they were happy with the judge’s ruling.

A federal judge has ruled out a U.S. investment ban on Xiaomi Corp.

, urging the decision to list the Chinese technology giant “flawed enough. ”

Ordering a temporary halt to the ban in a decision late Friday, Judge Rudolph Contreras questioned the Pentagon’s decision in January to name Xiaomi with a company with ties to the Chinese military. Mr Contreras said the U.S. had not conclusively shown such links to appear in advance films by the court.

“Xiaomi is a public commercial company that produces commercial products for civilian use, controlled by the independent board and controlled by shareholders, and there is no effective or uncontrolled control. to others owned or controlled by PRC or its security services, ”the judge said in his opinion.

Xiaomi said it was happy with the judge’s ruling and said it will try to impose a permanent ban on the ban. The Pentagon did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
