Two new cases of Brazilian coronavirus variant found in England

LONDON (Reuters) – Public Health England said on Tuesday that two new cases of the P.1 coronavirus variant were first detected in northern Brazil, reporting the total number of reported cases of the varied in Britain to 12.

The health authority said the two new cases were linked to international travel with Brazil.

PHE said another variant, first identified in the Philippines, was being investigated after it identified two cases in England. One of the issues was related to international travel, with the other still under investigation.
