The two residents of the territories were accused of kidnapping and robbing a resident of Modi’in Illit

An indictment was filed in the Judea Military Court for robbery using force and joint kidnapping against two defendants living in Beitilu, who abducted and robbed a resident of Modi’in Illit last month. He asked him to drive him to a nearby village to take money and buy clothes and directed the complainant to go to Ramallah.

Upon arriving near the Rantis checkpoint, the defendant asked to be swapped with him while driving, claiming he knew the road. The two took turns, and at this point while inside Ramallah, another defendant got into the car who was sitting in the back seat of the vehicle, behind the complainant. The other defendant threatened the complainant with a knife, while pinning her to his neck, instructed him to be silent and when the complainant spoke he hit him on the head.

At one point, the defendants removed the complainant from the vehicle in one of the alleys near the fence of the settlement of Bat El. The complainant’s vehicle was later located and returned to him. The two suspects were arrested several days after the incident, and their detention was extended from time to time. In addition to the indictment, a request was also made to order their detention until the end of the legal proceedings in their case.
