LONDON, Jan 11 (Reuters) – Normal life after the novel coronavirus pandemic returns to normal but is a bit off and people will rely on adherence to lock-in rules and mass distribution of vaccines, government chief medical adviser Britain Monday.
Chris Whitty told the BBC that the United Kingdom was at its worst at the moment and that the death toll at 81,431 was “absolutely appalling”.
Asked if he would return to normalcy, Whitty said: “I am confident that at some point we will return to life as before, no doubt, that is the life we all want to lead. ”
Once vaccines are released, he said, “people will be able to lift the restrictions. It will not happen at once, and at some point, we hope you will get back to a life that is pretty much as it was before. “
