NBA G League investigates Jeremy Lin ‘s claim of Bigotry against Asians

The NBA League G is investigating Jeremy Lin ‘s claims about bigotry against Asians, including being named a “coronavirus” on the court, a source confirmed in the league.

The news was previously reported by the Athletic.

“Being an Asian American doesn’t mean we don’t get poverty and racism,” Lin, playing with the Santa Cruz Warriors in the G League bubble, wrote in an Instagram post. “Being a 9-year-old NBA veteran does not protect me from being named a coronavirus on the court. ”

Lin, who made headlines nine years ago when he ran “Linsanity” with the Knicks, has been vocal about the full rise in hate crimes against Asians in the U.S. after the virus.

“I feel bad for someone who mourns the hatred of someone else they’ve never met based on skin color,” Lin told NBC Bay Area “Race in America” in a post shared is on Instagram.

“It educates me … to speak out and find ways to make a difference. Honestly, it just goes from anger to heartbreak. ”

He said in another post that a new generation of Asian Americans is becoming more active in the fight against discrimination.

“Something is changing in this generation of Asian Americans,” Lin wrote. “We’re tired of being told we won’t be racist, we’re tired of asking us to keep our heads down and not cause trouble. We are tired of Native American children growing up and getting to ask where they really are, from mocking our eyes, being accused of being a foreigner or being told that us unattractively.

“We are tired of the stereotypes in Hollywood affecting our psyche and limiting who we think we can be. We are tired of being invisible, of making a mistake for our colleague or of saying that our struggles are not so real. ”
