A UK-based journalist has been flooded with financial questions from netizens around the world amid the stock fiasco of GameStop, an American game merchant. The journalist, however, sees her ‘popularity’ rising to prominence on social media not because she is somewhat of a financial pundit but because of her unique surname.
Zoah Hedges-Stocks recently took to Twitter to make it clear that her surname was “Hedges-Stocks” and had nothing to do with stocks. “This is not a financial statement. I have no trading advice. My surname is Hedges-Stocks, ”Zoah wrote in block letters.
THIS FINANCE ACCOUNT IS NOT ACCOUNTED. I WILL NOT ACCEPT.
THA HEDGES-STOCKS MY SURNAME.

For the unknown, GameStop fired into brightness after its shares went up in the air. The lesser-known company saw its stocks rise after a group of Reddit users called ‘WallStreetBets’ continued to buy shares from the company. The development has left those who want to invest money confused, unable to grasp the costs on the stock market.
Since the tweet went viral, many were embarrassed by the controversy that created the name. Here are some of the many comments about the post:
Stop! GameStop may not be your surname.
