Chadwick Boseman made history this week when he received four nominations for the Guild Screen Actors Award for one year of work.
And Michael B. Jordan paid tribute to his late friend’s amazing achievement on Instagram with photos from Ma Rainey’s acclaimed films Da 5 Bloods and Black Bottom.

Boseman was 43 when he died on August 28, 2020, after a four-year battle with colon cancer.

His follow-up work, the 21 Bridges police thriller, received mixed reviews and was unsuccessful at the box office, but his supporting role as a Vietnam fighter for the Netflix film Spike Lee Da 5 Bloods earned some the best reviews of his career.
The film, which follows the impact of the Vietnam War on a group of black veterans, currently holds a new 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Boseman’s last film screening was in an adaptation of August Wilson’s play Ma Bottiney, Black Bottom, which was released on Netflix in November.
His performance once again received strong praise from critics.
In addition to the highest number of SAG nominations, Boseman received his first Golden Globe nomination for Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, having previously been nominated for the NAACP Image Award, Gotham Award and Indie Spirit Award for the one post.

Shortly after Boseman’s team announced his death on social media in August, Jordan shared some of his thoughts on the Black Panther cost.
‘I’ve been meditating on every minute, every conversation, every smile, every disagreement, every hook… everything. I wish we had more time, ‘he wrote.
‘One of the last times we talked, you said we were bound forever, and now that fact means more to me than ever,’ he continued.
‘You showed me how to be better, respect your cause, and create a legacy. And whether you know it or not … I have been watching, learning and always inspired by your majesty … Everything you have given to the world… the myths and heroes you have shown us that we… live on forever. ‘

Jordan starred as the Killmonger spokesman in Black Panther and was a fan favorite and critics who praised him for his ability to create a well-crafted antagonist.
The Creed star has already completed work on his next film, Without Remorse, based on the 1993 Tom Clancy thrush.
He also plans to make his debut album with Creed III, which will also feature opposite Tessa Thompson.
