The pair went out after the sinking of Gianluca Gombar. The coach was fired after it emerged that Roma had made an illegal substitute in their Coppa Italia connection with Spezia.

Dzeko and the rest of his players reportedly refused training after the decision before a meeting was held to change their mind. However, the striker has been frozen out of the first team established since then.

Sanchez has two goals and four assists in 19 games this season after completing a permanent transfer from Man United last summer.

Dzeko has eight goals and two assists in all competitions. Roma are currently four points behind Inter in the Serie A table.
