DUBLIN (Reuters) – Ireland has delivered on commitments to deliver 470,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines by the end of March and is hoping for “large quantities” of doses of vaccines not yet agreed, the health minister said on Thursday.

Ireland, with a population of 4.9 million, has confirmed orders for 360,000 doses of the Pfizer / BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine and for 110,000 doses of the competitive Moderna vaccine, Health Minister Stephen Donnelly told RTE radio.

“I hope we have a lot of AstraZeneca sizes and maybe Johnson & Johnson too” in the first quarter of the year, he said.
