With the highest number of diseases in the world after the United States, India began its immunization campaign on January 16, covering nearly 11.5 million health and facial workers, against a target of 300 million by August.

“The nationwide vaccination exercise is being significantly expanded,” the ministry said in a statement, adding that a new version of the Co-Win digital platform was being unveiled at the weekend.

Co-Win, wrapped in a government mobile app, is widely used to schedule vaccination meetings, allow health authorities to monitor supply and download vaccine verifications.

The wisdom of original software had delayed the rollout of India’s vaccine, forcing many states to be offline.

Last month, a government official said Reuters software changes would remove major vulnerabilities as the campaign expands from Monday to cover 60-year-olds and those over 45 victims. medical conditions.

Authorities estimate it could handle up to 10 million vaccines per day, up from an average of 300,000 now.

Co-Win is part of the government’s communications search app “Aarogya Setu”, or Health Bridge, downloaded by nearly 170 million people.

India’s disease rose 16,577 in the last 24 hours to stand at 11.06 million, health ministry data show, while the death toll rose 120 to reach 156,825.

A recent rise in the western state of Maharashtra and the southern state of Kerala accounted for the majority of diseases and deaths.
