Swiss watch Hublot has released 50 editions of their latest timebook designed in collaboration with American street artist Shepard Fairey, selling for $ 22,000 each. Portions from the sale will be donated to Amnesty International, a global human rights group.
With Shepard Fairey’s Classical Fusion Chronograph blackout, there is a mandala, a motif that represents harmony and the cycle of life in many ancient cultures. This pattern is pressed and engraved into the titanium bezel and 45-mm diameter case, and continued on the dial.
In the middle, the hands display Fairey’s signature “Star Gear,” a five-point star inside a business-looking wheel.

“I wanted to incorporate the art of the mandala into the piece because, for me, this shows the connection between the inner man and the outside world – a powerful concept to consider when looking at a watch. and think about time, ”the 51-year-old Fairey said in a statement.
Fairey, also known by his pseudonym Obey, is one of the most influential artists of his generation, and his works include the famous Barack Obama Hope posters and Liberté, égalité, fraternité, created as a symbol of hope for France in the aftermath of the 2015 terrorist attacks. His works have been exhibited in some of the world’s most prestigious museums, such as the Smithsonian in Washington, DC, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
The watch comes with a black lined rubber strap and a black steel buckle.
The 50 limited editions are available in Hublot e-stores and boutiques worldwide. Portions of the money will be donated to Amnesty International. The brand and the artist did not reveal the amount. This is the third episode of the Swiss watchmaker’s “Hublot Loves Art” program. The first two were in collaboration with contemporary Japanese artist Takashi Murakami and French sculptor Richard Orlinski.
