The 29-year-old returned to the South Coast club three months after ending his previous contract with West Ham
Jack Wilshere has admitted he never thought of playing in the Championship, but is happy with the challenge of helping Bournemouth get a promotion back to the Premier League.
The Arsenal midfielder dropped down to the second tier to join the Cherries after ending his contract with former club West Coast in October.
Wilshere says he could have seen the £ 100,000-a-week deal with the Hammers but wanted to get his spark on the pitch instead of being a spectator.
“I haven’t played in the Competition or tried to get a promotion before. If you had asked me 10 years ago if this was something I ever thought I would be involved in, I would have said no, ”said Wilshere.
“But I’m here now, ready and focused, and very much to help Bournemouth try to get a promotion. ”

Now 29, the player once visited the future of English football without a club for three months after leaving West Ham, but had no desire to hang up his shoes.
“If I felt like I was ready, and did everything I wanted to do in the game, I would have called a day when I left West Ham,” he said.
“I’ve been lucky enough to make good money all my career, but being out of the game for three months made me realize that I want to play this game for as long as possible. .
“When you’re at home and training in the park and going through a lock, sometimes your mind can play games with you and you start to think about different things.
“It was sad – I’m not going to lie down, it was sad – but now I’m here and I think that inspires me even more and makes me feel even nicer. because I know what I came through and now it is up to me to keep myself here. ”
When asked if the decision to end his big-money contract at West Ham was up to him or the club, Wilshere replied: “I think it’s a bit of a two-way deal. it was. For each party we came to the right decision.
“I wasn’t going to play and I didn’t want to sit there on a big salary at a club like West Ham and just rot, really. I knew I had to get out there and play a few games.
“The most important thing for a footballer is that you believe in yourself, that you are confident in your ability, that you are confident in your desire and willing to deliver when it comes to the big times. And I was never, ever skeptical about him as a player.
“I still feel like I have something to offer in this game. The next four or five months are going to be in the Competition, and I’m just trying to be the best I can be on their own, which is going to help my team reach our goal. ”
