Five facts about the future of 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5

Just one glance tells you that. The 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 has a very future look, a bevy of technology, and an amazing interior and exterior touch.

Here are five things to know about this new vehicle.

  1. Hyundai has the latest separation technology. The Ioniq 5 is built from the ground up as an electric vehicle and will be available with a standard 58 kilowatt-hour battery or a 77.4 kWh long battery. Range is still being measured for US models, but at its launch in the Hyundai home market in South Korea, the max drive range is said to be around 300 miles.

  2. It offers a choice of rear or full wheel drive. Rear wheel drive (RWD) cars have a fun nature to them and the Ioniq 5 will have a longer range. All-wheel drive (AWD) is great for better grip and good grip in cold weather states where extra traction counts. As for performance, Hyundai claims that the Ioniq can perform 5 0-60 mph in as little as 5.2 seconds.

  3. It offers an enhanced head-up display. This marks the first use of AR technology in Hyundai. AR allows information transmissions, direction signals and more “additions” than you see. Other well-known technology includes a pair of 12-inch digital displays and a Hyundai SmartSense with the brand’s latest driver support technology.

  4. The interior is known as the “Living Place”. Perhaps signaling a future where cars drive themselves and riders are free to relax, the Ioniq 5 known as Hyundai as the theme of “Living Space” is open, airy. The hallmark of Universal Island is a center console that can move and adjust to create space. A flat floor also fosters a more stable feel, and one photo taken by Hyundai even shows a driver sitting in the seat.

  5. It can charge other electrical appliances. Thanks to its large battery in itself, the Ioniq 5 can charge other electrical appliances such as electric bikes, scooters and camping equipment. The vehicle can deliver up to 3.6 kW of power thanks to a V2L port under the rear seats, as well as another port on the outside of the vehicle that can provide juice even when the vehicle is off.

The Ioniq 5 is just the beginning of an electric attack for Hyundai that will also include more electric vehicles from its luxury brand Genesis and its corporate cousin Kia.
