Everton want ‘full disclosure’ from the Premier League after the postponement of Man City

After Monday’s game was postponed at short notice, the Toffees are seeking further clarification from the Premier League.

Everton have fully revealed all the information that Manchester City submitted to the Premier League after Monday’s game was postponed.

The Premier League confirmed four hours ahead of the scheduled starter kick at Goodison Park that the game would not go ahead due to a coronavirus outbreak in City camp.

Gabriel Jesus, Kyle Walker and two other employees had previously been positive for Covid-19, but the Boxing City Day campaign with Newcastle United was still ongoing.

However, City filed a bid to reschedule the game with Everton 48 hours later following a surge in Covid-19’s positive test results received earlier Monday.

The Premier League Board agreed to reorganize the game as a warning, saying the health of players and staff is a priority.

But the Premier League told clubs before the start of the season that requests to cancel games would be refused if at least 14 players were not turned down.

Everton, one of only two clubs alongside Liverpool ‘s Merseyside rivals who are able to welcome fans to their floor, are seeking further explanation as to why the match was postponed.

A club statement read: “Everton Football Club regrets that tonight’s game against Manchester City has been postponed – not just for the 2,000 fans who would have attended, but for supporters on Merseyside and around the world.

“Our players were ready for the game, as were both the team staff and everyone at Goodison. Matchday is the most important date in our calendar. And it was a big one. which was this.

“While Everton will always have public safety, we will want full disclosure of all the information that Manchester City provided to the Premier League so that the club can be clear about why this decision was made. . “

Monday’s game is the second game in the Premier League that has been postponed due to a coronavirus revolution, with Newcastle United’s game against Aston Villa this month also delayed.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side are three points behind Liverpool leaders after 15 games, while City are three more against playing one less game.
