Disney nominates Bergman as chairman of Studios content division

December 21 (Reuters) – Walt Disney Co announced Monday that it has named Alan Bergman as chairman of its Disney Studios content division to oversee the acclaimed film studios including Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm and Searchlight Pictures .

Alan Horn will continue as the department’s chief creative officer, overseeing the creative aspects of content production, Disney said.

Horn and Bergman previously directed Disney Studios content as co-chairs.

“Our unique studios have the potential to create incredible cinematic experiences, and with this new structure, we ensure continued leadership is critical,” Disney CEO Bob Chapek said in a statement.

Bergman is a 24-year veteran of the global entertainment company and was previously president of The Walt Disney Studios. (Narrated by Sheila Dang. Edited by Mark Potter.)
