SHANGHAI (Reuters) – China will take “necessary steps” to protect the interests of its companies after the New York Stock Exchange began listing three Chinese telecom companies accused of armed ties, the country’s trade ministry said Saturday.

The NYSE said Thursday that it would begin listing China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom in response to a decision by President Donald Trump to ban U.S. investment in owned or operated companies. Chinese military control.

China’s Ministry of Commerce said in a statement that the delisting was a violation of national security and inconsistent with market rules.
