YouTube for iOS has received a new update. While the new version won’t take into account interesting features or specific changes, this is the first update that Google has released through the App Store since December. The new update also comes nearly two months after Apple posted privacy leaflets on the App Store to provide details on which app provides the amount of device and data. your personal. It was criticized against some companies, including Facebook, that everyone claimed that Apple was controlling the privacy of users instead of protecting it.
As first reported by 9to5Google, Google has released the updated YouTube for iOS which will bring version 15.59.6. The changelog available on the App Store won’t talk about the changes Google has made to the new update. It says the update has “fixed bugs, better performance”.
However, the latest YouTube version for iOS comes over two months after Google released its last update (15.49.4) to the App Store which took place on December 7. This is unusual if you look at the version history of the YouTube app on the App Store that shows the app getting a new update once in a week or two.
The new update to YouTube for iOS is also the first one released by Google since Apple implemented privacy labels for App Store listings. The company promised in January to partner with Apple and update their app page listings on the App Store to include privacy details. However, no new update has been made yet.
Apple Term reported that Google silently updated the App Store list of the YouTube app for iOS earlier this month to start displaying privacy leaflets. This means that showing Google privacy sheets was not Google’s goal for introducing the new update.
