Yehuda Poliker: Listen to the new song “Tell me slowly”

Just before his 70th birthday, the singer and creator Yehuda Poliker This morning (Monday) he launched a new-old song, “Tell me slowly”, which was originally performed by singer Hava Alberstein as part of the album “Improvised Love” in 1991. The song written by her and composed by Poliker is now getting a remake, intimate and minimalist, emotionally and vocally exposed.

This is not the first time that Poliker has performed the song – as early as 2010, Poliker put on a one-off show that was all about the purity of songs he wrote for others, which he first performed himself. The reactions from the audience were exciting and the show continued with a successful tour that left a taste for more.

Now, a decade after the successful show, Poliker returns to the studio to record for the first time a collection of the songs he has written for others, including some of the best Israeli music hits over the years, under the musical production of Tamir Muscat.

As mentioned, next week Poliker will mark his 70th birthday and instead of celebrating a festive show at the Hall of Culture, he will mark his birthday within the limits of the Corona. There is a symbolism in this of his songs and his artistic and personal entity, whose joy is mixed with sadness. And even if the corona struck culture, it could not stop Poliker’s work.
