Xiaomi is really looking forward to its March 29 event. The company will introduce not just three or four Mi 11 phones, one complete with the new lens technology and Mi Mix phone for good measure.
Today we will also learn that the company will provide a silicon-oxygen anode battery for the Mi 11 Ultra and introduce a completely new chip, not to mention what it will do.
Xiaomi is teasing about the new chip and the new battery
The Mi 11 Ultra battery will have a very fast charge, and according to the company, Si-O2 technology will help make phones thinner and charge faster. The idea has been borrowed from “new energy vehicles” and will introduce nano-scale silicon material through the negative anode which will, in theory, be 10 times more capable than graphite.
Speaking of the new chip, Xiaomi said it is happily “complying” with the new release, clearly a nod to the Surge S1 SoC which was introduced back in 2017. However, we are not clear will we see a new Surge S2, or something like a dedicated ISP for the lens.
