WWE TLC: We almost have Tables, Ladders and Chairs, and SmackDown has delivered in making the event essential.
The story of Kevin Owens, Roman Reigns and Jey Uso dominated and inspired Friday night’s show, which began with KO calling the Tribal Leader.
He noted that he warned his family not to look at what he would do to his opponent on Sunday, citing Roman as an expert and a bad example for his own children.
Paul Heyman appeared on the titan through, signaling masochist Owens for still standing up to the undisputed Champion even after last week’s defeat, but the opponent stopped listening and went he is on the hunt.
Adam Pearce tried to tell him to wait until Sunday, as he caught Reigns on a monitor making his way to the ring, where he apologized and was recognized as board leader.
Owens went back into the ring before Jey attacked him from behind with officers breaking him abruptly, and attacked him again in the trainer’s room with a chair bullet and put him through a board.
This continued throughout the night with Uso taking him to KO back on stage, and at the end of the show Roman looked overjoyed as he made his way back to the final ring.
He asked Heyman why anyone would waste his chance for the title, but Owens reappeared and made a two-on-one attack, including more chair shots and his getting through two boards.
The two cousins buried Kevin under the tables and ladders while dripping with more chair pictures, and Kayla Braxton tried to catch a word with a Roman as he went back on stage.
However, Owens rose from the rubble and demanded that he win the title this weekend or die trying.
Best of the rest
In the opening game, Montez Ford replaced Robert Roode with a handful of times to earn a grip as Street Profits retained the tag team titles in a good game, albeit similar to their previous meetings.
Dolph Ziggler and his partner blamed Charles Robinson for not seeing the free effect, but the rejection threatened to put the two off and they turned their backs on him.
The decision to split the IIconics is still a sad one, as Billie Kay and the amazing partner Tamina lost the Riott Squad in a very short game.
Carmella continued to shine as she tasted Sasha Banks ” sad and hopeless ‘hero, who eventually heard enough and threw champagne in her opponent’ s face.
However, Carmella got the upper hand with help from her sommelier, and broke another bottle over the back of Legit Boss.
Otis defeated Shinsuke Nakamura – he’s been pretty much falling out of grace for the last ones – with Chad Gable almost getting the win by stopping him from hit the Caterpillar for suplex favor.
He asked him to remember his training from Alpha Academy after the bell, and what his mentor meant to do, not what he says.
We also saw Sami Zayn appear at the first ever Sami Awards, at one point shouting at an employee who didn’t polish the awards, and storming to sort himself out – just for Big E to be including, looking cheerfully at the gongs and cue cards.
The IC Champion came out to host the concert, giving himself Comeback of the Year and Game of the Year for his successful ladder game over AJ Styles and Jeff Hardy at Clash of Champions.
However, Big E had changed his cards for Superstar of the Year, and the New Day star made a humorous lament speech before surfacing in a subsequent scramble.
Instead, Bayley and Bianca Belair talked to each other about their game during the show, and waged a good war even with a mistake or two.
In the end, the Role Model stole the win, lifting the eyes and hitting the Rose Plant – but one can’t help but think that EST WWE should have won the seo.
