While the world wonders whether Japan will be able to host the Tokyo Olympics this summer in the shadow of the corona plague, meanwhile the Asian country has other internal problems that are likely to lead to the resignation of the event’s organizing committee chief because of a sexist remark.
In recent days, Tokyo has been in turmoil following the remarks of Yoshiro Murray, head of the organizing committee of the Tokyo Olympics, who said during a meeting: “Women talk too much and are driven by a sense of discrimination. That’s why the discussions are getting longer and longer, ”which angered many across Japan.

The International Olympic Committee issued a statement saying the organization had accepted Murray’s apology. The organizing committee in Tokyo even stated that “his words are inappropriate”, but no political figure called on him to resign publicly while criticism only increased among the public in Japan.
Murray, 83, has been widely criticized for this sexist statement, in part because he was a former Japanese prime minister and was previously known for his word of mouth. After a wave of protests that lasted for days, Murray seems to understand that he is in trouble and so according to reports in Japan he is expected to resign following his remarks. Saboro Kawabucci, the former head of the Japanese Football Association, is expected to replace him.
