Wix announces the launch of the Wix Playground Academy designer program in Israel

Wix, a leader in the website building platform and tools for managing the online business, announces today (March 21, 2021) the launch of the Wix Playground Academy designer program in Israel. The program provides a professional springboard for design students and freelancers at the beginning of their careers. Wix Playground Academy arrives in Israel after successful programs in New York and Europe with over 150 graduates, some of whom have already joined the industry. The program will operate online.

Hagit Kaufman, VP of Design at Wix: “We have the right to give back to the local design community the vast experience we have gained over the years in everything related to design, designer management, developing effective and critical work methods.”

In 5 intensive weeks over the coming summer, selected students will meet leading names in the global design industry, be closely accompanied by mentors from Wix’s design studio, learn web design, code, animation, content writing, UX and more and conduct interactive, unique and fun workshops that will emphasize On designing their branding identity as designers. During the program, students will work on their personal portfolio and present it as a final project to a professional panel from the global and local industry at the end of the program.

Hagit added, “We bring to the academy the hottest names in the international design industry, who will give experiential workshops and share their experience as designers in the beginning. We have already hosted names like Jessica Walsh, Debbie Milman, Alexandra Sigmund and the hand is still tilted. Wix’s 250 designers would not have consumed themselves, not entered the syllabus. ”

To be accepted into the program, students will submit their portfolio and undergo interviews. The rigorous screening process will be done on the basis of professional parameters as well as a willingness to take part in an intensive and challenging program. The program is fully subsidized by the company.

Oz Bar Natan, director of the program in Israel, said, “I am excited to open the first program in Israel. We have just begun the screening process, and as expected, the local level is in line with that of students in programs in Europe and the United States.”

The program will begin on July 12 and run through August 12. Classes will be online Monday-Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. To register: https://www.wix.com/playground/academy
