With the money on Melda: Netanya will strengthen its connection and striker

Beginning of an article

Maccabi Netanya is expected to use some of the money that will be paid for Younes Melda – about one and a half million euros – to strengthen Raymond Atfeld’s staff in contact and striker. At the moment, the club is talking about bringing a foreign striker, also due to the limited options in the Israeli market.

Meanwhile, Melda is expected to undergo medical tests in Belgian Ghent today (Thursday) and sign a three-season contract. The striker, who has already parted ways with Maccabi Netanya, impressed the heads of the club, and will earn about 200,000 euros without bonuses in the first season, when in the following years his salary will increase.

Melda, by the way, is represented by Dudu Dahan, who also transferred Rami Gershon to Ghent and is in great contact with its leaders. “I’m buying a career like Gershon’s,” Melda said before boarding the flight.

In another matter, Dolev Azoulay, who was not in Atfeld’s plans and was asked to look for a team in the transfer window, is suffering from an unconventional injury. The player, who suffered a blow in one of the training sessions, suffered a rupture in the salivary duct on the left side of his face and needed surgery to reconstruct that duct. After insisting on playing with the injury for several months, Azoulay had no choice but to undergo surgery. He will return in the next few days for full training.
