With Christian Dior’s Parfum “Nose”, Haute Perfumery gets the flow treatment

If you’re looking for something new to flush this week – and, really, who isn’t? – please pay attention to a film that features more dreamy places than Emily in Paris, as many tight characters are convinced Lupine, and famous cameos that would not seem out of place in a program of Call my representative. Nose, a project commissioned by Parfums Christian Dior that will first appear on Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and Google Play today, following the acclaimed fragrance of François Demachy on his relentless quest to make the perfect ingredients discovered to make some of the most popular fragrances in the world. And unlike the binge-worthy shows mentioned above, this is not fiction.

“François is known for being a fragrant traveler,” says Clément Beauvais, the film’s director, who joins Demachy over two years as he travels the globe in search of the raw materials. best (jasmine, bergamot, patchouli), from Indonesia to Italy. “If it means going to very remote places at the other end of the world, it will,” Beauvais said.

Demachy, who has been the creator of Dior fragrance— or “nose nose” —since 2006, has relaunched a blockbuster fragrances for brands such as Chanel. But Dior’s body of work spans some of France’s biggest franchises – from Ms. Dior and Dior Homme, to Jennifer Lawrence’s debut in 2018. Demachy’s interest in legendary quality, but also his commitment to the more hateful parts of his work, from mixing boxes in his lab, to literally getting his hands dirty in the flower fields and production facilities where the notes that begin the journey from soil to bottle.

Farmers tend to be one of Demachy’s small flower farms on a regular basis.
