After deciding to release Jamil Wilson after just two months due to the unconvincing ability he displayed, Hapoel Jerusalem is close to strengthening to take his place when junior forward Stanton Kidd closes his terms at the club and signs with a team from the capital.
Kidd, who will celebrate his 29th birthday next month and rises to a height of 1.98 meters, left for Europe in 2015 after not playing in the NBA Draft and playing in Belgian Limburg, German Tübingen, Turkish Drushpaka (where he played under David Blatt and won the Eurocup), Melbourne United The Australian so far this season is playing in Turkish Urmenspor. Kidd also had a brief tenure in Utah Jazz in the NBA in 2019, but was cut from it after four months in which he played only four games.
This season in Urmenspur from the bottom of the Turkish league, Kidd averaged 13.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game, with the Jerusalemites having to compensate the Turkish club following Kid’s expected signing, which would become Jerusalem’s first acquisition of the Daneus Adumatis era.
