Why not choose those turn-based games to work with the Ring-Con, Nintendo? – Feart

Ring Con Patches For Nintendo Switch Games

Remember when the Nintendo Labo launched the VR Kit and a small handful of Switch games – including The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Ultimate Smash Bros., and Super Mario Odyssey – did you get incredible Labo VR mode updates? We may not have spent hours exploring Hyrule with the Nintendo VR Goggles that were brought to our faces, but we certainly enjoyed our novel playing around in other games with the edge that cardboard mostly.

We recently looked at how the Nintendo Life Team remains active at the beginning of 2021, but even when we No pumping iron or making burpees in the living room, we would welcome any excuse to get up from the sofa while playing our ‘normal’ games too – anything for the ol blood keep circulating! With specific regions around the world either entering another lock or approaching new restrictions to counter the third wave of the pandemic, we are looking for a small break from a novel we find these days. Fortunately, we know of a company that is an expert in that field, and we’ve been thinking about another Nintendo fringe that many of us have access to: that’s the Ring-Con that came with it Adventure Ring Fit.

While some (but not all) of the NL Team have been using it every day over the past year, we wouldn’t mind trying it with other Switch games, just like we did with the Labo goggles . To that end, we’ve come up with ideas for Ring-Con compatible modes that Nintendo could add to its Switch library with a neat update or two.

Are these suggestions completely bad? Why, they’re all a stone-faced, fire-fighting winner and Nintendo would be fools – FOOLS! – not hastily implementing each one to keep us entertained through the next wave of social distance and limitation. *

So let’s take a look at the Ring-Con modes for other Switch games we were dreaming of …

* Jokes! Aside from some fun ideas, they’re all a bit silly … OR Are they?

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch)The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch)

Publisher: Nintendo / Developer: Nintendo SPD

Release Date: 3rd March 2017 (USA) / 3rd March 2017 (RA / EU)

While it’s possible to play the VR mode in Breath of the Wild forever, spending hours with the Labo goggles tied to our face isn’t as we want to play it. However, it was a fun novel to try and we think a little Ring-Con implementation would work much better.

The most obvious method is to use the controller as your bow – Crossbow Link Training 2, anyone? We think a mini-game will get through an NPC on the map where you drag on the ring to cut an arrow and set it on fire at a target – Octorok, Keese, balloons, whatever it is.

On the other hand (and as suggested by the famous contributor NL Gonçalo Lopes), what about races against NPCs or long distance marathon courses on the trails and trails across the country? Holding the Ring-Con and moving for movement – just like you do to run around the world in Ring Fit Adventure – you could race against humans or maybe deliver mail on across the kingdom in several side missions to use a new swag or the Circle for use as a weapon. The Ring Fit suit, perhaps?

Hey, if Link’s got a Nintendo Switch t-shirt in its inventory, there’s no reason it couldn’t win other cross-advertising gear too! Throw in a beautiful sunset and who could resist going for a bog next to the rock?

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Switch)Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Switch)

Publisher: Nintendo / Developer: Nintendo

Release Date: 28th April 2017 (USA) / 28th April 2017 (RA / EU)

Stay tuned … you won’t guess this one. The Ring-Con … is a steering wheel. Unmatched! Genius! Revolutionary!

Of course, this has already been tried, and even worked to some extent. Unfortunately, it’s hard to flush or burn things while the Joy-Con is firmly locked at the top of your Ring-Con in a powerful Con-fluence Con-troller. If Nintendo were to introduce the official Ring-Con mode Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, at the very least it would require movement-based shaking or pressure to activate objects.

However, of all our ideas this is perhaps the easiest to implement and the most plausible.

Splatoon 2 (Switch)Splatoon 2 (Switch)

Publisher: Nintendo / Developer: Nintendo software technology

Release Date: 21st July 2017 (USA) / 21st July 2017 (RA / EU)

Splatoon 2 there’s already plenty of weapons, and we’re sure Sheldon would get his hands on a Ring-Con-like shield that woke up paint while picking it up and tossed it back at the enemy’s ink when pressed. It would be difficult to navigate the world with any alacrity, so this may have had to be broken down into its own mode in a smaller area where Ring-Con had its everyone. It would be fun then.

On the other hand, what about some PvE mode where the Ring-Con player (essentially OP) stops and the others have to work together to bring them down? Pah, this game stuff is easy. Next thing!

Luigi Platform 3 (Switch)Platform 3 Luigi (Switch)

Publisher: Nintendo / Developer: Next level games

Release Date: 31 October 2019 (USA) / 31 October 2019 (RA / EU)

Luigi trades in his Poltergust G-00 for Ring-Con with a funny name – an Screamer Vacuum, something like that – which makes up everything in a large radius when you drag it and blast ghosts around the room when you leave.

Again, simple navigation may be an issue outside the world of Ring Fit on-rails, so this might work better as an optional co-op mode; the Ring-Con player empties all the money while being positioned on the main player’s movers which pushes the ghosts and moves around as usual.

Mario Tennis Aces (Switch)Mario Tennis Aces (Switch)

Publisher: Nintendo / Developer: Camelot

Release Date: 22nd June 2018 (USA) / 22nd June 2018 (RA / EU)

Quiet, please. There are tennis racks so 19th century – wouldn’t it be more fun if you used a big ring disc to blow up flower balls at each other using gusts of air?

It might work better as an optional ‘Volleyball’ mode or something, perhaps with one player controlling the character’s body on the court while the Ring-Con player focused on his making pictures. Either way, it’s something we would definitely shoot up and play for, oooh, four or five minutes, at least!
