The World Health Organization warned against fake Covid-19 vaccines sold on the dark web at a news conference on Friday.

“We urge everyone not to purchase vaccines outside of government-run immunization programs. Any vaccine outside of these programs may be subject to or falsified, with the potential to cause serious harm, “said WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

A WHO chief executive said the group is also aware of reports of reusing empty vaccine filters and disrupting Covid’s vaccine supply chain.

“We urge the disposal or destruction of an empty vaccine visa to prevent its re-use by criminal organizations,” Tedros said. “The flow of information is essential to identify to map global threats and protect confidence in vaccines,” he said.

The WHO confirmed that no harm from falsified vaccines makes the safety of vaccines true.

Law enforcement in the UK cataloged more than 6,000 cases of Covid-related fraud of £ 34.5 million last year, the BBC said.

Americans have lost $ 382 million to fraud linked to the pandemic coronavirus, according to the Federal Trade Commission. More than 217,000 people had filed a Covid-related fraud report with the organization since January 2020.
