At least 27 countries are banning flights and passengers from the UK after discovering a new coronavirus strain in England.
A number of countries have banned or banned UK flights and passengers after the British government said on Sunday that the spread of a new, more contagious strain of the coronavirus was now “out of control” .
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and scientists have announced that the new snort has led to a flurry of infectious numbers.
The UK government has tightened its COVID-19 restrictions for London and nearby areas, disrupting Christmas holiday plans for millions.
The countries that have so far banned the announcement of travel are:
Argentina has banned flights from the UK. They said the last flight from the UK would reach the country on Monday.
Belgium ban flights from the UK for at least 24 hours from midnight on Sunday.
Bulgaria said flights to and from the UK would be canceled from midnight on Sunday until 31 January.
Canada banning UK flights for 72 hours.
Chile announced it would suspend effective UK flights on Tuesday.
Colombia it will suspend flights to the UK.
Croatia They said it would stop UK passenger air traffic for 48 hours.
Denmark has suspended flights from the UK for 48 hours starting Monday at 09:00 GMT.
El SalvadorPresident Nayib Bukele said no-one who has been in Britain or South Africa in the past 30 days can enter the country.
Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania has canceled flights from the UK.
Finland has banned flights from the UK for two weeks.
France has banned travel from the UK for 48 hours, including journeys “related to the carriage of goods by road, air, sea or rail”.
Germany they suspended all air links with the UK from midnight on Sunday, with the ban initially slated to last until December 31. Flights will be free.
Hong kong it will ban flights from the UK for a new coronavirus strain.
Italy has stopped flights from Britain and “getting into Italy of people who have stayed there in the last 14 days”. The new strain was found in one Italian who recently returned from the UK.
India they announced a halt to all flights from the UK to the country until the end of the year, the air ministry said in a tweet.
Iran ordered a postponement of UK flights for two weeks.
Ireland has banned flights coming from the UK from midnight on Sunday for at least 48 hours.
Israel They said it was blocking entry to foreign citizens traveling from the UK, Denmark and South Africa.
Kuwait has added the UK to a list of “high-risk” countries and banned flights.
Morocco it banned flights to the UK starting Sunday.
Norway will suspend flights from the UK with immediate effect for at least 48 hours, Norway’s health minister said in a statement on Monday.
All UK passenger journeys to the Netherlands banned until January 1, the Dutch government said. It also banned ferry passengers.
Poland We will cancel flights from the UK starting from midnight on Monday.
Romania has banned flights to and from the UK for two weeks starting Monday afternoon.
Switzerland has suspended flights until further notice.
Turkey said flights from the UK, Denmark – where nine cases of the new snort have been found – the Netherlands and South Africa will be canceled.
