A transfer window is opening, the teams are looking for reinforcements, and we are just waiting for football to return. Meanwhile, with most teams looking for reinforcements, we set out on a journey after the foreigners who have played here in the past decade.

After Maccabi Tel Aviv and Maccabi Haifa, we arrived at Betar Jerusalem. From Ice Cream to Woods, where is everyone today? We went out to check.

Betar Jerusalem – 2010/2011
Serge Ailey (39) – Retired from football in 2015 after a short tenure at Hapoel Jerusalem Leumit, he currently serves as a players’ agent and focuses on the French market France.

Christian Alvarez (41) – After becoming a legend at the University of Catholicism in Chile, Alvarez became the technical director of the luxury club in his homeland.
Christian Gonzalez (44) – Retired from football in 2018 at the age of 42. He is currently a coach in youth departments in Uruguay.
Bonus: Stephen Cohen (34) – Retired from football, lives in the US and among other coaches who are supposed to take part in the Betar Jerusalem branch in Miami.

Betar Jerusalem – 2011/2012

Leonardo Pessos (31) – He was supposed to collaborate with Brian Jones in Cushing City from the league in Malta, but was seriously injured and his contract was canceled. Currently without a group.
Andrei Pilavsky (32) – After three years in which he did not play football, the brake returned to the pitches, albeit in an amateurish manner, but returned. He joined Niva, a local league played in Kiev. He claims Pilavsky is fully qualified and has not played football for reasons of conflict with the previous club he played for, and is now trying to get back into the groove.
Hermondi Ikanda (30) – League game in Oman at the Saham Club.
Miguel Fortijo (38) – After playing in the lower leagues in Switzerland in recent years, the Argentine also settled in it and now serves as a players’ agent.

Betar Jerusalem – 2012/2013
Jibril Kadayev (27) – After retiring from football and not playing for two years, the Chechen returned to play for the Dinamo Makhachkala Legion from the third division in Russia.
Zaur Sadayev (31) – Recently played for Turkish Ankaragucho, but left it after disappearing to the club’s heads for a few weeks. He is currently without a team.
Dominique Glavina (28)– In the last two years he has been playing for Varjedin from the first league in Croatia.
Dino Shkwartz (30) – Returned to Croatia and plays in the third division.


Betar Jerusalem – 2013/2014
Andreas Tunis (33) – One of the leading players of Fatum United, the leader of the Thai league.
Landry Molmo (34) – Lives in Belgium, most recently coached in the youth department of Standard Liege.
Dusan Matovic (37) – Still in Israel, playing in the Ness Ziona section, his son is one of the leading tennis players of his age in Israel.
Ice Cream (33) – Serves as the Professional Director of the FC Unity Youth Academy, located in Istanbul.
Tata Bangora (31) – Retired from football and recently opened in Sierra Leone a branch of Boraspur, the Turkish team he played for.
Jonathan Villa (34) – Still playing football, but relegated to Coruso from the third division in Spain.
Pablo Brendan (37) – Retired from a verbal game, serves as a football coach for children. He recently stated that he would be happy to coach in Romania, where he played during his career.
Brian Jones (30) Game in Cushing City from the Maltese League.

Betar Jerusalem 2014/2015
Claudemir Pereira (36) – Retired from football recently and returned to Brazil. He joined a company that represents footballers in Brazil, and at the same time took a scouting course.
Livio Antel (31) – After tearing up nets in Lithuania for 4 years (23 goals in Zalgiris in the peak season), the striker returned to Romania to Uta Arad from the first division.
Cesar Arso (35) – Retired from football and moved to focus on politics. He recently ran in the municipal elections in Villarreal.
Throw Korach (33) – Last year he played for Hapoel Afula in Leumit, not with great success. He is now without a team.
Emanuel Sonny (28) – One of the tragic stories of Nigerian football in recent years. Has not played football since 2015 following a serious injury, when he recently made headlines in his homeland because he said he has difficulty walking due to the injury and has no money to fund the surgery. Eventually, funding was obtained thanks to a Trabzonspor player, Ogeny Onazi, and he is now in the process of recovery.

Betar Jerusalem – 2015/2016
Arsenio Woolport (28) – Playing in Armis from the first Cypriot league.
Jesus Ruada (33) – After a difficult time at Apoel Nicosia, the Spaniard has returned to playing football and is now at the Gymnastics de Tarragona from the third division in his homeland.
Pablo de Lucas (34) – Returned to Romania and plays for Valentari from the bottom of the first league.

Betar Jerusalem 2016/2017
Marcel Heister (28) Game against the Hungarian champion, Frantzvaros.
Eric Sabo (29) – After two successful years and which promoted Kragomark to the first league in Turkey, Sabo joined Rizspor this week, also in the first league in Turkey.
Johan Odell (37) – Retired from football after the period at Betar Jerusalem. Currently a coach in the youth department of Nice.

Betar Jerusalem – 2017/2018
Paul Edgar (23) – The one marked by Eli Tabib as a diamond, realizes the potential and is part of Betis’ squad, from the first league in Spain.
Jacob Sylvester (31) – After a long time, his name is not associated with Israel. He recently signed with Chennai from the Indian League.
David Boysen (29) – Last year he played in Ness Ziona and the Galilee landscape without much success, and now he has returned to Denmark and is playing for Helsingor.
Giorgini (29) – After the serious injury, the Brazilian is still struggling to recover. Recently developed a hobby and often goes on fishing trips in Brazil, it is still unclear if he will return to play football.

Betar Jerusalem – 2018/2019
Ulnara cabinet (26) –
Recently played in Changchun Yitai from the bottom of the second division in China.
Mihai Woodch (28) – Suspended for two years from football due to a gambling affair in Romania, he is currently not playing – but has been documented in Romania as being very overweight (to say the least), which raises the question of whether he will ever return to playing football.
Bruno Iba (25) – Released from the Slovenian Domjala, did not play football for a year and is now in training camp with Latvian Riga FC in Dubai. He is currently on a tested standard and has not yet signed there.
Afonso Tierra (28) – Returned to Portugal and plays Blanchesh from the first league.
Anthony Annan (34) – Serves as coach of Inter Turko from the league in Finland.
Freddie Floman (25) – Recently signed for Waterloo from the Premier League in Belgium.

Betar Jerusalem – 2019/2020
Levi Garcia (23) – Recovered from injury at the start of the season and became a leading player in AC Athens with 3 goals in 10 games.
