WhatsApp: Not only in the app – will allow you to make video calls on your computer as well

WhatsApp announced today (Thursday) the launch of a new feature that will reach the desktop version – video calls and voice between two users. Later the new interface is expected to expand and become available for conference calls as well. According to the advertisement on the company’s website, the calls will be available in both horizontal and vertical mode, and they will appear on a separate computer screen, which can be changed. Also, the calls will always appear at the top of the screen, so they do not “disappear” inside the open tabs in the browser. Moreover, these conversations are flooded from end to end, with WhatsApp unable to listen to them, or read the content – no matter what platform you use.

“Over the past year we have witnessed a significant increase in the number of people chatting with each other on WhatsApp, sometimes for extended periods of time. Last New Year’s Eve, we broke the record for the largest number of calls ever recorded in a single day – with 1.4 billion voice and video calls,” it said. “When so many people are away from their loved ones and getting used to new ways of working, we want WhatsApp conversations to be as similar as possible to face – to – face conversations, regardless of your location in the world or the technology used by you.”

Earlier this week, the company announced the introduction of another feature in Apple’s iPhones. In the new feature, WhatsApp helps privacy enthusiasts keep mystery, not only in written messages, but also in voicemails.
