What next? Marciano will leave Hibernian in the summer

Beginning of an article

After five years at the Hibernian goal, Ophir Marciano is set to look for a new challenge this summer. The Israeli national team goalkeeper refused to extend the contract offered to him by the Scottish team and will leave it at the end of the season, the coach, Jack Ross, confirmed.

“Ophir will not accept the deal we offered him. He was open with me about it. We offered him the best we could. He is in his 30s now and he feels his future is somewhere else,” Ross told Scottish media. “With the background and experience he has gained I am sure he will have offers outside the UK as well.”

In a news item published in Scotland regarding Marciano’s expected departure, no candidacy was reported for accepting the goalkeeper of the Israeli national team this summer. At the same time, it was alleged that he expressed his desire to move to the English league.

Marciano, 31, has been playing overseas since the 2015/16 season, so he was loaned out from MS. Ashdod to the Belgian Moscaron. A season later he moved on loan to Hibernian, who acquired him in the summer of 2017. Now, it seems, the senior Israeli goalkeeper is on his way to a new destination.
