In accordance with the new guidelines and with the opening of additional museums, the Western Wall Heritage Foundation announced today (Tuesday) the opening of the Western Wall Tunnels sites in a limited format and in accordance with the strict guidelines.
After five months in which the sites of the Western Wall tunnels were closed to visitors, starting this morning, it is possible to re-arrange tours by prior arrangement for individuals and groups of up to 20 people.
The Western Wall Heritage Foundation reports “We are excited to announce to the general public the opening of the Western Wall Tunnels sites after 5 months in which they were closed due to the Corona virus. Throughout the period we worked in creative ways to allow the public to connect to the Western Wall remotely.” “Every year more than half a million people visit, now we are happy for the opportunity to renew the visits in accordance with the guidelines for maintaining public health. Towards the end of the summer vacation and the beginning of Elul, the exciting period of forgiveness, we invite families and the general public to visit the Western Wall sites.”
At the same time, the Western Wall Heritage Foundation operates a series of tours in Jerusalem according to the purple character and virtual tours of the Western Wall tunnels, the new excavations and the Jewish Quarter for participants from Israel and around the world who cannot physically reach the Western Wall.
