Danny Abdia celebrated the beginning of week 20, and tonight (Tuesday) at the end of Washington’s practice, the Israeli rookie came to the Wizards’ press conference to share some experiences about the special day and the feelings ahead of his departure for Philadelphia.
“I went to dinner with two members of the group. Roy Hachimura sang me a happy birthday in Japanese. Russell Westbrook bought me a present, and it’s beautiful of him,” Danny said of the festive day of the year.
On his defense against guards, and especially from the prep came the block on Kyrie Irving in the game against Brooklyn: “I like challenges keeping players fast. I raise my hands up and learn how not to make Paul. I have to give credit to the medical staff. They give above and beyond to get us “Fresh for every game. They help us get sharp for every game. Of course our professional team also helps us get ready for every game.”
Abdia’s coach, Scott Brooks, went on to compliment Abdia: “Danny has a good awareness on defense, he understands how the other players play. What I like about him is that he is always with his hands up, he knows how to use size to his advantage. “
“Danny got the place in the top five honestly and continues to work to keep him. I love him in that position right now.”
