Welcome: The first children of 2021

The year 2020 ended last night (Thursday), and during the night the first children of the new year were born in hospitals around the country. The first baby for 2021 was born at Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon at 00:03 to the couple Sapir and Yonatan Cohen. The birth was accompanied by Dr. Iris Harel and midwife Lisa Albert.

At the Sheba Medical Center, a baby weighing 2,700 kg was born tonight for the couple Aliza and Elhanan Romanoff from Herzliya. The birth was accompanied by the midwife Atara Cohen Tzedek, a midwife for 5 years in Sheba. Aliza Romanoff is the daughter of the US Ambassador to Israel, David Friedman.

The first midwife for 2021 at Wolfson Medical Center is Hannah Barzel, who tonight gave birth to a fourth-year girl weighing 3,050 pounds.

Sheeran and Kobi Goli from Moshav Yarhiv in Sharon started 2021 embracing a third daughter after two sons at Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba. The baby was born at 1:24 a.m. weighing 3,395 pounds. “It was a powerful and fast-paced experience and it’s worth the whole result,” Sheeran shares.

The first child of the Shamir Assaf Medical Center doctor was born shortly after midnight (00:21), to the couple Daniel and Liel and Zetao from Lod, for whom this is their eldest son. “We are very excited to welcome the new civil year as a new family. Thank God everything went well, and a special thank you to the lovely midwife Dikla who was a great help to us and helped with everything needed,” the excited parents said.

Nurit Falkar, 38, from Yavne, and her husband Oren received the year 2021 in the delivery room at Kaplan Medical Center, when Nurit gave birth at 2:38 tonight to a baby weighing 2,220 kg. “This year has been challenging, and I hope for all of us and for the children that 2021 will be a better year, and that the corona will pass and we will return to routine,” Nurit said.
