Iranian judo Said Moulay continues to receive a warm and loving treatment in Israel and today (Tuesday) he joined the training of Oren Samadja’s men’s team. The Iranian will actually train with the Israeli team until the day of his competition, when the national coach even provided him with a training opponent – 20-year-old Eshed Winkler.
“We are happy,” Samadja told the sports channel. “Sport shows that politics are put aside. Moulay is a guy who goes with his truth and his dream. I do not know exactly what the consequences of all this are, but he is without a doubt an example to every person and every athlete. It is a very important step. I also suffered at the World Championships when not “I went up to compete against an Iranian. We hope that this will be an opening for the other athletes in the world,” the coach of the Israeli national team concluded.
In addition to training, Moulay asked the Israeli team for help with physiotherapists and masseurs and of course answered in the affirmative. “He’s actually part of our team until Thursday,” said Oren Samadja.
Tomorrow at 14:00 the lottery will take place, and then we will know at what stage Mulai and Sagi Muki will be able to meet for a particularly spicy battle.
