At the center of the 11th round of the National Basketball League was the Ramat Gan derby in which newcomer Maccabi defeated the Ordons. Matan Harush’s team looked good, but failed to withstand the deep rivalry of the city rival in the last quarter. Also, Gil Amitai almost finished with a triple-double in the AS Ramat Hasharon victory over Hod Hasharon. Elitzur Netanya defeated Elitzur Yavneh in a dramatic end.
Hapoel Raj / Givatayim – Maccabi Urban Raj 84:80
The derby promised and also exists. Both teams provided a good and close game in most of its stages, but in the deep end of the newcomer, together with a huge three by Eyal Shulman, made the difference. The first half was under the control of the Ordons, but they finished it with only a 5 advantage and in the last quarter the defense of Maccabi Urban Raj made the difference.
Elitzur Netanya – Elitzur Yavne 65:59
A big win for the diamonds that connect V two in a row and stop the momentum of the builders. The visitors can leave feeling missed after leading throughout most of the game, but collapsed in the final quarter where they scored just 9 points. Elad Hoffman missed a three-pointer at the end that could have won the game for the visitors.
Maccabi Hod Hasharon – AS Ramat Hasharon 83:78
Since the opening round, AS Ramat Hasharon has not won. Tonight it finally happened – Guy Cantor’s team overcame a good debut by Smardo Samuels (25 points), and came out of the future with a precious victory. Real age provided a great game and was lacking 2 assists for a triple-double.
