Fenerbahce is without a doubt the hottest team in the Euroleague at the moment and tonight (Thursday) it recorded another W and one particularly impressive. The Turks crushed Moscow Khimki 76: 107 to achieve an eighth consecutive victory and get closer to the top bunch. In contrast, in the Hall of Peace and Fraternity a serious drama unfolded at the end of which Barcelona defeated Olympiacos 74:76 thanks to two offenses in the closing seconds of the Greeks.
Himki (21: 2) – Fenerbahce (10:13) 107: 76
On the one hand – the team that is in the best momentum in the Euroleague, on the other hand – the sluggishness of the factory and the result? Too predictable. Fenerbahce provided a purposeful display against the unfortunate Russians en route to the W eighth in a row while showing an incredible percentage to 2 of 29 out of 34 and six players finishing in double digits.
In fact, the first 15 minutes of this game were still kind of close, but then the Turks opened burners and did not look back. Nando de Colo led Igor Kokushkov’s side with 18 points and just two fouls from all ranges (9 from 7 from the field, 2 from 2 from the penalty spot) while Lorenzo Brown added 17 points. Olympiacos (12:11) – Barcelona (6:17) 76:74
A particularly tense battle drained him for the final six seconds of the game. The Russians were already leading by a gap of 12 in the second quarter and 11 in the third, but this season the host does not seem to give up a single game and provided a nice comeback on the way to a sixth straight victory. Kevin Panther led with 14 points, Sergio Rodriguez added 13 of his own including three threes from six attempts. On the losing side, Kevin Pangos and Austin Hollins stood out with 12 points each.
