‘WandaVision’ finally brings the Jolt of Romance to the MCU

Marvel’s WandaVision breaking many obstacles for the Marmat Cinematic Universe. This is Marvel ‘s first ever live action show for Disney +, the first in – depth review of Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) as characters, and a nostalgic compliment on classic sitcoms. But the most amazing thing about it WandaVision perhaps this is how it moves front and middle romance. While the MCU is a toy with magic, space operas, spy spies, and absurdist comedy, it has never been dug into one key part of human experience: falling in love. WandaVision giving us the first big romance in the MCU that jumps past the flirtation stage and gets right to the sexual, soul-shaking stuff.

WandaVision opens with Wanda Maximoff, aka the Scarlet Witch, entering Westview ‘s black and white suburban paradise with her husband Vision. The two quickly enter a newlywed warmth, even though they don’t know how they got married, ending in this picture a perfect sitcom world, or what, uh, is going on. The series itself plays out as both a tribute to classic American partners and a haunting dream world where Wanda, Vision, and Westview residents seem locked in. But WandaVision also celebrates that Wanda and Vision have a really hot romance. One of the very few of the MCUs.

Okay, before you throw your Cap and Peggy fan art (or Cap and Bucky) at me in disgrace, remember that the MCU is incredibly light on true romance. Starting with 2008’s iron Man, movies in Marvel Cinematic Universe have a habit of embracing love interests as sparring partners for the heroes. Starting with Peeth Potts Gwyneth Paltrow and continuing with such ThorJane Foster (Natalie Portman), Guardians of the GalaxyGamora (Zoe Saldana), Ant-Man’s Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), and even an MCU version of “MJ” (Zendaya), Marvel’s female love interests are usually there for more rat-a-tat conversation than being making steam -outs. There are romantic subplots to give the hero a fun foil and to build the poles in the final battle. The point is flirtation, not consummation. Don’t forget all about true love!

Except WandaVision revels in romance.

WandaVision using the concept of classic sitcoms to emphasize the myths created by these shows about the American version of “Happily Ever After. ”In a post-World War II world, there was no happy ending for a couple owning a family farm or moving to a new heroic world. He lived on the outskirts of a spacious single family home surrounded by nosy neighbors and full of love. The same misconceptions are funny. There are farcical errors. Every day ends with the problem at hand solved and bursting out with a loving kiss. WandaVision using sitcoms to not only signal the trauma Wanda is trying to take away, but show the height and depth of her passion for Vision.

From opening beliefs WandaVision to the last frame we’ve seen so far, Wanda and Vision are portrayed as a way in love. And they have a real commitment from each other! Between Wanda ‘s sultry welcome party for Vision and the fun they have under the covers after their beds have miraculously reunited, WandaVision making it clear that his main couple gets physically together. There’s even a joke about Vision wearing sexy outfits that Wanda wears for the talent show!

While Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) and Captain America (Chris Evans) have a tender love that spans over a century, they are an attractive connection. The rest of the slapstick, juvenile, or almost time-consuming MCU romances are devoted to breathing. WandaVision a definite demonstration of the dream of being in love. All signs may indicate that Wanda’s sitcom life is a hard-hitting farce, but her loyalty to Vision is as real as sin. The two fell in love off-screen, but they confirmed their feelings for each other Avengers: Infinity War. WandaVision just giving the couple a place to fall in love. And this is the first time the MCU has given this to one of its top pairs. (Includes Cap and Peggy!)

WandaVision bringing the MCU’s first truly bloody romance. It’s a long time coming and shows us just how badly the Marvel Cinematic Universe needs more stat love stories.
