Starting next season, Maor Melikson will serve as the professional director of the Southern Youth Department, after Sharon Avitan asked to end his position at the end of the season.

After 7 years in the position, Sharon Avitan wanted to end his position as the professional director of the youth department at the end of the season. The person who will lead the youth department from the next game season will be Maor Melikson, who will be appointed the professional director.
The club’s president, Alona Barkat: “For years Sharon led the youth department with dedication and loyalty with a great love for the game and the club, a love that also accompanied him as a player. I thank Sharon on behalf of the entire Hapoel Beer Sheva family for his work and generations of players “Maor when he took office. Maor is very strongly connected to the future generation and the children in the youth department and I wish him great success.”
Sharon Avitan: “After 7 years, I decided it was time to change direction. I want to thank the club and its leaders for the beautiful years. The Hapoel Beer Sheva club was, is and will continue to be my home.”
Maor Melikson: “I am happy and excited to take on the role. This is an opportunity for me to return the love and support I have received from the club and the fans all these years. The goal before me is to develop the next generation of Hapoel Beer Sheva players. I want to thank Sharon Avitan for many years of work “Giving from the heart and caring for the department.
