Wales have shut down Josh Adams’ shield for the first two games of the Six Nations after breaking the team’s strict COVID-19 protocols, coach Wayne Pivac confirmed on Wednesday.
Adams was in attendance at a family reunion Sunday after the squad got two days off from training.
“We are extremely disappointed with the breach and have worked hard and swiftly to take all appropriate steps,” Pivac said in a statement.
“All players and management have received detailed minutes and education on our protocols, and everyone has a responsibility to abide by the rules.

“At this point, Josh has made a judgmental mistake, made a mistake and has immediately expressed remorse.”
Adams, who apologized “unsolicited”, will miss the Wales Six Nations opener at home to Ireland on Sunday, as well as the trip to Scotland on 13 February.
He returns to the squad for the third round of the tournament when they host England on 27 February.
Adams, 25, has scored 14 attempts in 29 Tests for Wales after making his debut in 2018.
