Raul Garcia Celebrates (Reuters)
Precedent: Athletic Bilbao are going to play two cup finals in just two weeks. The Reds-Whites advanced tonight (Thursday) to the cup final for the 2020/21 season after a 1: 2 overtime victory over Levante (2: 3 in the sum of the two games), while they still have the final postponed from last season against Sociedad.
The semi-final rematch opened with a goal for the team from Valencia, when Roar Marti found the net in the 17th minute. 13 minutes passed and the Basque reaction came, when Raul Garcia managed to get the equalizer.
In the second half neither team was able to find the net and they went into overtime, reminiscent of a 1-1 draw from the first game. In overtime, Alex Branger made Bilbao fans happy with a dramatic winning goal in the 112th minute. Bilbao’s first final, on the 19/20 season, will be on April 4 against Sociedad. At 18 they will meet Barça for a 20/21 title fight.
