Victory for the start-up nation in the section against the clock in Italy

The Israel Startup Nation cycling team recorded a small historic milestone today (Tuesday) when they achieved their first ever victory in a group segment against the clock, and overall their third victory this season.

Today we set off in the Italian column Kofi Bartali, a not easy mountain column that set off in front of the Adriatic Sea. The Israeli team came to him with a stated goal to try to beat him, led by one of its most senior riders, the outstanding climber Ben Hermans. After a 98-kilometer opening section, there was a second 11-kilometer section against the clock.

The column will reach the finish line in four days at Saint-Marne, but today’s victory gives Hermans an advance. The achievement is recorded on all seven riders of the team, including the Israeli Guy Niv, who jumped together to the 11-kilometer section, constantly swapped the lead to shield each other from the wind and finally finished with an excellent result of 11 minutes and 36 seconds.

After all the teams jumped and finished the track the result turned out to be the best of all, with the team beating some of the best competitors in the world, including Inaus, Quickstep, Astana, and more.
