Vergecast: OnePlus 9 review and the first Big Tech Congressional audition this year

Every Friday, The edge publish our famous podcast, An Vergecast, where we talk about the week in technical news with the reporters and editors covering the biggest stories.

This week, Nilay Patel and Dieter Bohn take over Verge reporter Allison Johnson to talk about her review of the One Plus 9 and how the phone compares to the company’s 9 Pro model as well as other flagship Android phones out in the market.

The second half of the show is dedicated to Congress’ first major tech audition in 2021 with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and Google CEO Sundar Pichai. Political commentator Makena Kelly pauses as the hearing progresses to comment on the effectiveness of these types of events on the implementation of new technical regulation, the live Twitter trolling Dorsey himself did, and Zuckerberg ‘s views on Section 230 reform.

There’s a lot more to it all – such as Intel’s major changes coming with its new Director, the start of enhanced audio reality taking on theme parks, and class action status for a butterfly keyboard suit versus Apple – like then listen here or in their favorite podcast player for full consideration.
