‘Vaccines, measure of key factors to fight virus strains’

ANKARA

Vaccination efforts and strict follow-up of COVID-19 measures stand as key elements to controlling the revolution as more infectious variants of the virus are recorded worldwide, according to a study from recently.

The disease, which erupted in the Chinese city of Wuhan in late 2019, has been subjected to three reported mutations in the UK, South Africa and Brazil, and poses a global health risk with the their higher disease rates.

In a joint study launched by the Turkish Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, Turkish Microbiology Society, Turkish Association of Clinical Microbiologists, and the Association of Public Health Specialists, healthcare authorities assessed risk potential the virus and how new changes have emerged. .

According to the study, the basic circulation of the virus among humans is the root cause behind such changes.

Prevention of all COVID-19 cases, vaccinations, and preventive measures, along with active monitoring of the recorded cases, are therefore the most important means of combating the new mutations, the report said.

He also noted that the new UK variant, VOC (Variant of Concern) 202012/1 appeared in the second half of September 2020, and quickly came into control despite measures tight of the country.

The available data suggest that the mutated virus has a higher mortality rate and is more contagious, and puts a significant strain on the health care system with rising numbers of cases, deaths, and patients in emergency.

The research also said that a vaccine or a vaccine developed after a natural infection with the new snort has provoked a lower potential for an increase in cases within Portugal, Switzerland and Denmark.

Various South Africans

The second variant “B.1.351”, according to the estimates, was observed during the second wave in December 2020 in South Africa.

Early studies showed that this variability may counteract the neutralization developed by natural infections and antibodies after vaccination. These mutations have also been found to reduce the effectiveness of some antibodies used for treatment.

Much in South Africa, there is a high rate of disease, however, the course of the disease has not been affected or not.

‘Brazil variety in Japan, South Korea’

The Brazilian variant “P1” is currently common in the state of Amazonas. This variant is said to be at risk due to the potential spread among those who have recovered from the illness and are still under close scrutiny like the others.

It is not yet known what effect the Brazilian variant has on the course of the disease and the mortality rate. It has also been found in Japan and South Korea among those with a travel history associated with Brazil.

Mixture observed in Turkey

The mutated versions of the virus, first detected in 17 cities among 128 patients as of Jan. 29, have so far arrested 199 people in 23 territories of Turkey.

While 196 of these cases are of varying UK size, both are linked to South Africa, and one to Brazil.
