Nvidia has released the first new set of graphics drivers for 2021 and no, they won’t bring major performance enhancements to hot new games or make another old game look worse with weird raytracing. Nope, the 461.09 drivers are targeting infamous but important security solutions. Although if you want to see how high your frame rate is and in Windows Mail, these drivers have a tricky version for you.
Nvidia security magazine lists the vulnerabilities that have been fixed, 16 cases up to one rated at 8.4 on the Common Vulnerability Scoring System. Reads like 7 for me, wahey.
The new drivers will also fix a few issues, including the GeForce Experience FPS tool that appears in Windows Calendar and Mail applications. Was that a bug? Mate, I’m not going to spend six million quid on 3090 unless you’re going to tell me how fast it displays FWD: FWD: FWD: emails from my aunt. The Calendar criterion has been the basis for my forum signature since 2006.
