UFC star Nate Diaz names two potential opponents for his return to the Octagon

Nate Diaz returned to the Ariel Helwani MMA Show for the first time since November of 2019 and expressed interest in fighting back for the Octagon against Dustin Poirier or Charles Oliveira.

The UFC fan favorite is expected to return this year after losing his BMF title fight to Jorge Masvidal at UFC 244, back in 2019.

Nate Diaz has been in the news from time to time for calling out fighters in the past year but no bout has come to fruition. Nate Diaz himself has received tons of calls from elite fighters but seems to be only interested in some opponents.

The Stockton native has shown interest in fighting Dustin Poirier after the latter’s defeat of Conor McGregor at UFC 257. But the fight failed to impress Nate Diaz.

“I think it was less of Dustin doing anything great, and more of Conor f – king up. That’s my personal opinion. I think he was coming ashore, he was he looks very close to me, “Diaz said.

Diaz and Poirier had planned to fight a year or two ago and Diaz’s younger brother thinks this is the perfect time to keep up the fight.

“Now is definitely the time to fight. We should have fought a long time ago, and now the stars are on the same oar,” Diaz said.

Another matchup was planned that Nate Diaz announced against # 3 competitor in the light division, Charles ‘De Bronx’ Oliveira. So far, Nate Diaz told Helwani.

“Who did it … Ferguson? That’s the right guy there. I fight that guy there, that’s who I fought,” Diaz said.

Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor: Conflict for centuries

Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor have one of the strongest tournaments in UFC history. The duo first fought at UFC 196 in March of 2016, where Nate Diaz picked up a claim trophy in the second round. The duo joined the Octagon for a rematch later that year, which Conor Mcgregor went on to win through a unanimous decision.

However, Nate Diaz does not appear to be interested in fighting McGregor and believes the Notorious One is repeating his mistakes.

“This is happening because he doesn’t want to be there either. He’s anxious to kill them because he wants out. He should have been made slower, and then he didn’t He pushed the distance and got you slipped in. The steep thing was a factor, but why, you were king all the time, that’s what I think about the fight. that, “Diaz said.

Conor McGregor kicked Nate Diaz by commenting on an ESPN MMA Instagram post about the interview. The Irishman mocked Nate Diaz for sitting in a race car seat during the interview.
