Two days before the opening of the Tel Aviv Grand Slam in judo, tests conducted for all those entering the “bubble” at the Hilton Hotel in Tel Aviv found ten positive test subjects for the corona virus, with five of them receiving a borderline result and being tested again. Of these, only one athlete is borderline in testing.

These are five external workers who were supposed to work at the Shlomo Group Hall, who were examined yesterday before entering the work and were found to be positive. The five did not come into contact with athletes, were sent to solitary confinement and a message was forwarded to the Ministry of Health.

In addition, members of foreign delegations – including one athlete – who arrived in Israel last night, who were previously positive for Corona, and boarded a flight with two negative corona tests, were found with a borderline response and therefore remained isolated in their room until further test results.

According to the protocol of the judo competitions, the participants underwent two tests before arriving in Israel, when at the entrance to the hotel they were checked again and did not leave the room until they were given a negative answer. Only after receiving the third answer, they were given a green bracelet that allowed them to leave the room and walk around in capsules inside the hotel.
