According to the UCLA Newsroom, the team of researchers was led by neuroscientist Martin Monti and was the only team to help a 25-year-old man in 2016 who was recovering from a coma with the help of the same device they were using now.

However, through the ultrasound method by Monti and his team, the patient was able to respond to two specific commands immediately after two treatments.

In addition, he was able to look at individual photos of his relatives when their names are mentioned as well as immediately grab and drop a ball, and to a large extent, he was able to shaking his head when asked questions or not.

Showing positive signs

The team continued to use the treatment on the patient and shortly thereafter, he was able to use pen and paper for the first time since he was attacked with a stroke, moreover he was unable to last but a bottle of his mouth and communication by answering questions.

According to Monti, these were signs of a coma.

The other patient who received the same treatment and also showed positive signs was a 50-year-old woman who suffered a heart attack two and a half years ago and has been in such a low-sensitivity state ever since.

A few days after her first treatment, her family reported that the woman was able to recognize some objects, such as a pencil and a comb, and was able to understand speech.

The results of the experiment are published in the scientific journal Brain Stimulation.
