Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey tweeted the questions of U.S. lawmakers on the social media platform at a misinformation hearing Thursday, prompting one conference member to call a multitasking call mach.
Lawyers would grind Dorsey and Facebook CEOs and Google’s Alphabet parent for nearly five hours. Tensions were high as they were asked to answer “yes or no” to questions ranging from whether their platforms were responsible for the Jan riot. 6 that they understood the difference between the two words.
During the hearing, Dorsey tweeted “?” with a census asking Twitter Inc users to vote “yes” or “no.” Democratic Representative Kathleen Rice asked: “Mr. Dorsey, what’s winning, yes or no, on your Twitter account? ”

Dorsey told her that “yes” was winning, to which she replied: “Your multi-tasking skills are very impressive. ”
Facebook Inc. CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Alphabet Inc. CEO Sundar Pichai were also witnesses at the joint hearing with two subcommittees of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
Lawyers from both parties tried during the hearing to put down the technical leaders with questions that required only “yes” or “no” answers, stopping them when they tried to provide longer ones. Lawyers questioned the regulators about concerns from COVID-19 misinformation, harassment, hate speech and terrorism.
As the hearing went on, Dorsey also liked tweets criticizing aspects of the session, including asking why members of Congress mistaken Pichai’s name, and responded to a tweet confirming that he was barefoot during the call. His vote received more than 71,000 votes on Thursday afternoon.
